The Orphan

The married couple, John and Kate, decide to adopt a child after a marriage crisis. At the orphanage, the couple falls in love with a lovely Estonian girl called Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman) and decide to take her home. Daniel, the older child, is hostile towards his new sister causing some family issues, while Max likes her. At first, Esther seems to be a normal, educated, talented and bright girl until weird happenings take place in the house and little Esther becomes something no one expected. While Kate tries to deal with problems that spook her for years, she also has to deal with a "new" and mysterious Esther that is about to change everyone's life.

Director: Jaume Collet- Serra
Genre: Drama, Horror, Thriller

The Orphan is a very good movie. I have to admit that the plot did surprise me in the end and surpassed my expectations. I was frustrated with how naive John would be throughout the film which made me some how mad at his character. I have to admit that Isabelle Fuhrman played her character really well and has impressive acting skills and I look forward in seeing her in other movies. Overall, I liked the film because of its plot and for being a horror movie. I recommend it to people who enjoy this type of movie, adults and teenagers mainly. The film has some inappropriate content and frightening scenes.
